C’mon in

Hello everyone and thanks for dropping by. Welcome to The Etail Queen*.

This blog is a marriage of three of my favourite activities – shopping, surfing the net, and asking questions. I have a nice collection of courier boxes courtesy of online stores, and my wardrobe is running out of room. As I hop from ASOS to Shopbop to The Outnet, I wonder:
  • What makes a great online shopping experience? How do etailers generate loyalty from shoppers, sometimes even advocacy?
  • What are the turn-offs for shoppers online? (#1 - don't display items if they're sold out!!!)
  • Standalone music retailers have all but disappeared, and book stores are heading down a similar path. What’s next?
  • How will the internet and social networks transform the way we shop in the 1, 2 and 5 years?
  • Can brick and mortar stores win back our affection?
These questions, and more, will be explored in this blog.

So what can you expect from The Etail Queen? A mix of reviews, polls, interviews, research, opinion pieces, and of course my shopping hauls :-D

I hope you enjoy your stay here and I’d love to hear from you in the comments, on Twitter or Facebook :-D

Now ... should I checkout my ASOS shopping cart?

* Etail = E + (re)tail. Technically it should be e-tail but the hyphen irks me for some reason - forgive me grammar police!
